Stonington Georgia Vest: Post 1

While prowling Ravely, I found this pattern called Georgia Vest.

I was attracted to the pattern because the clean lines and shape of the vest. I was feeling adventurous that day and decided to try Quince and Co's Tern yarn. The yarn arrived quickly and I was eager to get started.

It was a risk to start knitting correctly when with a yarn I wasn't familiar with but I tried it anyway. As long as I was being bold, I figured I should go all the way.

Before you finish the sweater by adding the collar, you are supposed to block the sweater. I have a terrible habit of doing things when I am tired and blocking this sweater was no exception. It got me in trouble this time around.

When I wet the sweater it became heavier than I expected. I followed the way the sweater seemed to want to lay. When I looked at the paper I saw the bottom of the sweater, where the ribbing was, was supposed to measure about an inch or so lesser than the top of the sweater.

It was too late to really make any difference in the sweater and I'll just have to live with the mistake. I am having a hard time figure out which buttons to use.

Any opinion?
